department of art and art history Promotional book

Coordinating with the major printer, Classic Graphics, Myself along with a talented squad of designers were given the honor of producing 2,000 professionally-printed books for the College of Art and Architecture at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. This booklet was completed under strict deadline by an amazing team of 10 incredible designers working with the Head of the department and Art Director, David Brodeur.

The booklet shows and explains each of the Art and Architecture’s Department’s 11 concentrations, as well as opportunities found in the Charlotte area. It will be handed out at college fairs and mailed to prospective high school students.

Graduating seniors from each discipline were interviewed, and their pictures accompanied by their quotes, are shown throughout the booklet. Accompanying work by our featured artists also gives perspective into what future art students may end up doing during their time at UNCC.

We shape an idea for future attendants to envision themselves in without ever having been there.

I worked on ideation, art direction, and style as a leader of our team, laying the groundwork for the icons so that more people in our team could add to the larger set.

I also partnered with another team member to create a surprise icon for our Art Director. Designing an icon based from his old nickname ‘Tank’ while also incorporating his notoriously perfected moustache. This icon would be “hidden” as a single anomaly among our set of icons that spans the inside covers. To be seen by those who know it is there and those who discover it by chance. Choosing between the 3 icons that incorporated the moustache, we decided that the moustache wheels were a perfect fit!
